KTM – ‘Rally’ Style Dash

Its been quite a lot of work, but have finally got my rally style minimalist dash completed.

Removes stock dash surround and rev counter, adds a ram style mount and usb port.

I’ll add a link to the 3D printer files once I’ve published them on maker world.

To install remove upper fairing, dash and headlight, install new parts, headlight and fairing. Probably takes about an hour.

Dash is made from 3 printed parts with a 4th part to cover the wiring loom.

KTM – Seat Recover

Recovered the KTM seat, as it had a couple of stains on it. Couldn’t find a cover anywhere so bought some fabric from eBay.

To cover the seat you need approx 900mm x 600m

the steps to recover are –

  • carefully remove old staples from existing cover
  • centralise new material then start from the middle working out to each end
  • In a few places add staples to hold the material then trim excess
  • add staples closer in as you tidy things up pulling the material in the remove any creases

most important step is take your time and take lots of photos so you have an idea of how the original was fitted and stapled. I also put a pencil mark on the material to show the centre line.

Virus

Caught an unknown virus at the end of Nov and been seriously ill since, just getting back on my feet, so hopefully will start updating the bikes again soon.
